DC Parks & Recreation Free Spring Break Activities

DC Parks and Recreation runs free spring break programming at recreation centers across the city April 13–18. It's genuinely underrated — free admission, available by neighborhood, and many locations include free lunch. That makes it an actual lifesaver for parents who work or need to find quality childcare for the week.

Programming includes sports, arts, STEM, swimming, cooking, and field trips. Different recreation centers offer different activities, and age groups are usually separated, so there's something for 5-year-olds through teenagers. You have to register online (and spots do fill up), but once you're in, the cost is zero.
