Loudoun Spring Farm Tour 2026
Once a year, dozens of farms across Loudoun County open their gates and let you wander around for free. The Spring Farm Tour is a self-guided driving tour, you pick which farms you want to visit, load the kids in the car, and hit as many as you can in a day. Some farms have llamas and alpacas. Others let you taste homemade ice cream or fresh cheese. A few have baby goats you can hold. It's low-key, no-pressure farm hopping, and kids love it.
The tour covers a wide area of Loudoun County, from farms near Leesburg down to places closer to Middleburg and Purcellville. You won't hit all of them in one day, most families pick 3 to 5 farms that are close together and make a morning or afternoon of it. The farm map is usually posted online a week or two before the event. Each farm sets their own hours, but most are open 10am to 4pm both days.

Parent Tips π‘
- Download the farm map before you go. Visit Loudoun's website posts the participating farm list and map about a week before the event. Plan your route the night before, farms are spread out and you'll waste time backtracking without a plan.
- Pick 3β4 farms max. With kids, each farm visit takes 30β60 minutes plus driving time between stops. Four farms is a full day. Don't overdo it or everyone ends up cranky.
- Start early on Saturday. The farms are less crowded before 11am. By midday, popular animal farms get packed and parking fills up.
- Bring cash. Some farms sell products (honey, eggs, produce, ice cream) and not all accept cards. $20β40 in cash covers tastings and impulse buys.
- Dress for dirt. These are working farms. Paths are unpaved, there may be mud, and you'll be near animals. Sneakers or rain boots, not sandals. Hand sanitizer is essential after petting animals.
- Pack snacks and water. Not every farm has food for sale, and the driving between stops means kids get hungry. A cooler in the car with sandwiches and drinks saves you from hangry meltdowns.
