Nats vs Orioles: Beltway Series
The Beltway Series is one of those only-in-the-DMV sports moments. The Nationals host the Orioles for a three-game set at Nationals Park, and the whole stadium buzzes with friendly rivalry. Friday night has a hot dog hat giveaway, Saturday features a DC sports legend bobblehead, and Sunday is the family-friendliest game with a kids novelty sliding mitt giveaway. Nationals Park itself is great for families, with a kids play area, the Racing Presidents between innings, and the Navy Yard waterfront right outside. Even if your kids are not huge baseball fans yet, the atmosphere, the food, and the between-innings entertainment make it a solid family outing.

Parent Tips 💡
- Sunday afternoon is the best game for families. 1:35pm start, kids giveaway, and the crowd is more relaxed.
- Arrive early for giveaways. They are first-come, first-served and usually run out by the 2nd inning.
- The kids play area is behind the outfield. Great for when attention spans run out around the 5th inning.
- Eat outside the park first at the Navy Yard restaurants if you want to save money. Stadium food is pricey.
- Bring a hat and sunscreen for the Sunday afternoon game. The sun hits hard in those seats.
