Playdate at the National Museum of Natural History

If you have a toddler or preschooler who loves dinosaurs, bugs, or basically anything from nature, this Tuesday morning program is made for them. Museum educators set up hands-on stations where little learners can touch real fossils, explore animal specimens, and play with nature-themed activities designed for tiny hands. It is not a structured class, so kids can wander from station to station at their own pace. The museum is quieter on weekday mornings, which makes it so much better for young kids who get overwhelmed by weekend crowds. It runs every Tuesday and is completely free, just like the rest of the Smithsonian.
