Why we made Finn's Adventures

There's something about watching your kid color that just makes you stop for a second. They're focused, they're quiet, they're actually having fun with a piece of paper and some crayons. No app, no screen, just their little hand trying to stay inside the lines. Those are the moments I keep coming back to as a parent.

But finding good coloring books turned out to be weirdly hard. The ones on Amazon cost $12 and get used for three pages. The free ones online are full of ads or look like they were thrown together in five minutes. I wanted something my kid would actually sit with, something connected to places we go together as a family.

So we made our own.

Finn is a little orange fox who visits real places around DC, Maryland, and Virginia. The National Zoo, museums, aquariums, parks, camping spots. Each book follows him on a different trip, with thick coloring pages, a simple story, and little prompts on every page that keep kids busy beyond just filling in colors. Count the flamingos. Roar like a lion. Stomp your feet like an elephant. That kind of thing.

Every book is free. Not "free trial" free. Not "free with purchase" free. You put in your email, we send you the PDF, you print it at home. That's the whole process. No Amazon cart, no Etsy checkout, no subscription.

We're putting out new books throughout the year. The first one takes Finn to the National Zoo, and your kids will have plenty more adventures with him at some of the coolest spots in the DC area as new editions come out. The easiest way to get them is through our newsletter. When a new book is ready, you'll get an email with a link. One click, download, print.

His first adventure takes him to the Smithsonian National Zoo, where he meets pandas, makes friends with a gorilla, and almost falls into the sea lion pool. More adventures are coming soon.

Yes. It's designed for standard 8.5 x 11 inch paper and works on any home printer. Black and white printing is fine since the whole point is for your child to add the color. You can also take it to a print shop if you want thicker paper.
We designed it for ages 2 to 6. The lines are thick so little hands can color without getting frustrated. There are interactive prompts on every page (counting, animal sounds, movement challenges) that keep younger kids engaged. Older kids who love animals and coloring will enjoy it too.
Finn is a cartoon fox who explores real places in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. He wears a coral bandana and carries a green backpack. Think of him as a little explorer who takes your kids along on his adventures. He's also the star of our upcoming KTG Adventures YouTube series.
