Taste of Bethesda 2026
Five blocks of Woodmont Triangle close to cars and about 50 Bethesda restaurants set up tents on the street. Walking in is free. Food is not: you buy taste tickets on-site, five for $10, and most items run one to four tickets. That is the part worth explaining to kids before you arrive, because the ticket booth line is where the whining starts.
Four stages run live music all day, and there is a kids' corner with face painting and craft tables that gives everyone a place to sit down mid-afternoon. About 40,000 people come through, so it gets dense by 1pm. We go at 11 when the doors open, eat for an hour, and leave before the crowd thickens.

Parent Tips 💡
- Buy tickets first, then walk the whole route: The ticket booths are at the festival entrances. Buy a strip before you start looking at food, or you will end up backtracking with a hungry kid. Two strips per person is a reasonable starting point.
- Go at 11am: The first hour is calm and the lines are short. By 1pm the streets are packed shoulder to shoulder, which is hard with a stroller and harder with a toddler who wants to walk.
- Split portions: Most items are small-plate sized, so a family of four can share four or five things and try more of the festival than if everyone orders their own.
- The kids' corner is the reset button: Face painting and crafts are free and there is space to sit. When the food part stops being fun, head there before anyone melts down.
- Bring a card and some cash: Ticket booths take both, but the card lines are usually longer. Cash moves faster.
- Strollers work, barely: The streets are flat and closed to traffic, so a stroller is fine early. After noon you will be lifting it over curbs to get around crowds. A carrier is easier for under-2s.
