Gaver Farm sits about an hour north of DC in Mount Airy, and its Fall Fun Fest runs for two months straight, September 4 through November 1, open daily 10am to 6pm. Admission covers more than 65 attractions on the property: a cut corn maze, mini mazes for younger kids, slides built into the hillside, pedal karts, a jumping pillow, a farm animal arena, and a wagon ride out to the pumpkin field.

Tickets run $14.50 on weekdays and $24 on October weekends, with under 2 free, and a season pass is $55 if you think you will come back. Weekday tickets are cheaper and the farm is much emptier. Pick-your-own pumpkins and apples cost extra by weight. Plan on three or four hours, because the attractions are spread out and kids will want to do the slide more than once. Wear closed shoes, the fields get muddy after rain.
