Cox Farms opens its Fall Festival on September 19 and runs it through November 8. If you have not been, the thing to know is that this is not a pumpkin patch with a hayride bolted on. It is a whole day. There are giant slides built into the hillside, a hayride with animatronic scenes along the route, rope swings, a tire mountain, farm animals, and free apples and cider that are included with admission and genuinely unlimited.

Tickets are online only and they do sell out, especially the October weekends. Admission runs roughly $10 to $25 depending on the date, with the cheapest slots on September weekdays. September is also when the crowds are thinnest and the weather is still warm enough that kids will actually use the slides more than once. Gates are 10am to 6pm in September and October with last entry at 5pm.

Parent Tips 💡

• ✓Buy tickets the day they go on sale. October Saturdays sell out weeks ahead. A September weekday is cheaper and far less crowded.
• ✓Skip the stroller. The terrain is grass and hills. A carrier or a wagon with real wheels works much better.
• ✓Wear shoes you do not care about. Everything is dirt, hay and mud if it rained in the last two days.
• ✓The slides need burlap sacks. They are stacked at the top of each slide. Grab one on the way up, not the way down.
• ✓Pumpkins cost extra. Admission covers the festival and the cider. Pumpkins from the patch are priced separately at the exit.
