Fort Dupont Ice Arena, the only indoor ice rink in the city, opens its Friday sessions free in two-hour slots between 10am and 8pm. You reserve a slot online, show up, lace up, and spend two hours at a crisp forty degrees while the sidewalk outside shimmers. The first time we did this it felt like cheating.
