Artscape 2026
If you haven't taken the family to Artscape yet, this is the year to do it. It's the largest free arts festival in the entire country, and Baltimore goes all out for it every time. There are multiple stages with live music, huge art installations you can walk through, and enough food vendors to keep everyone happy. The big headliner this year is The Roots performing on Saturday night.
For families, the real draw is the Kidscape area. It's a dedicated section with hands-on art projects where kids can paint, sculpt, and create alongside working artists. The activities change throughout the weekend so you can honestly come back more than once and have a totally different experience. Admission is completely free, which makes it even easier to just show up, see what catches your eye, and go from there.

Parent Tips 💡
- Head to Kidscape first. It's the dedicated kids area and has shade, which you'll appreciate on a hot May weekend.
- Bring a stroller for younger kids. The festival is seriously spread out and there's a lot of walking between stages and activity areas.
- The Roots on Saturday will be packed. If you want a good spot, get there early and stake out your space.
- Free water stations are set up throughout the festival. Bring refillable bottles and skip paying for drinks.
