Drive-In at Union Market
Union Market's rooftop drive-in is back for its fourteenth season, and the opener on May 8 is Mulan, rated G, a perfect pick for families. You can drive in for twenty-five dollars per car, which means the whole family gets in for one flat price, or walk in free through the Neal Place entrance if you live nearby. The setup is a real outdoor movie experience with a massive screen on the rooftop parking level, and kids love the novelty of watching a film from the car or from blankets laid out next to it. Union Market's food vendors are open before the screening, so you can grab tacos, pizza, or ice cream and bring it up. Screenings happen monthly through the summer, so if Mulan is not your thing, there will be more titles announced soon. Gates usually open around sunset, and the movie starts once it gets dark enough.

Parent Tips 💡
- Arrive early to grab food: Come early to Union Market vendors before heading to the rooftop. Lines can get long once everyone settles in.
- Bring blankets and pillows: Many families spread blankets next to their cars rather than sitting inside the whole time. Bring comfortable outdoor seating.
- Plan for a late movie start: The movie starts when it gets dark, so expect a later start time. Plan your kids' bedtime accordingly.
- Tune your car radio: Audio comes through the designated FM station. Have your radio tuned and ready.
- Walk-in space is limited: If you're coming on foot through Neal Place, arrive early. Space fills up fast for walk-ins.
- Check for monthly titles: Screenings happen monthly all summer. More titles will be announced soon if Mulan is not your pick.
