Fiesta Asia Street Fair
This is the biggest free Asian festival in the DC area, and it takes up several blocks of Pennsylvania Avenue right in front of the Capitol. The 21st edition brings over 1,000 performers, artisans, and food vendors representing 20-plus Asian cultures. For kids, the Dragon Lair is the spot, with crafts, games, and activities designed for families. There is also a cosplay contest that the older kids and tweens go crazy for, plus live performances on multiple stages running all day long. Food-wise, you can eat your way through the entire continent of Asia without spending a fortune. We try to hit this one every year because there is so much to do and it is completely free. Get there before noon to avoid the worst of the crowds.
