Georgetown French Market
The Georgetown French Market is back for its 23rd year, and it's one of those outings that works for the whole family without any planning. Wisconsin Avenue transforms into an open-air market stretching from O Street to Reservoir Road, with boutique sidewalk sales, café specials, live music, and plenty of entertainment to keep kids busy, face painters, balloon twisters, and a French unicyclist. The best part? You just show up. No tickets, no reservations, no parking stress if you take the Metro. Grab a crêpe, let the kids get their faces painted, and stroll through Georgetown at its springtime best.

- Saturday afternoon is the most vibrant, but also the most crowded. Sunday morning is better with young kids.
- The entertainment is spread along several blocks, walk the whole stretch to catch different performers.
- Bring cash. Some vendors and performers are cash-only.
- Georgetown has plenty of public restrooms in restaurants and the Georgetown Park mall.
- Combine with a visit to the Georgetown Waterfront Park afterward, kids can run along the river.
- Stroller-friendly, but the sidewalks get crowded on Saturday. Consider a carrier for toddlers.
