The Pigeon Comes to Washington, DC! — NMAH

The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History presents an interactive exhibit dedicated to Mo Willems' Pigeon character. If your kids have read "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!" or any of the Pigeon books, they'll love it. This exhibition brings the Pigeon's world to life through storytelling, interactive stations, and hands-on art activities.

Kids explore the creative process behind Mo Willems' characters, play with interactive storytelling stations, create their own art inspired by the books, and see why these books work so well with young readers. The exhibit is designed for ages 2–8. Combined with the rest of the museum's offerings (like the Julia Child's Kitchen), you can easily spend 2–3 hours here.

METRO Smithsonian Station (Blue/Orange/Silver Line) — About 5 minutes walk to the National Museum of American History. The station is directly across from the Smithsonian museums on the National Mall.
PARKING Limited street parking near the National Mall. We recommend taking Metro or paying for a nearby parking garage (~$15–20 for the day). Uber/Lyft is often easier with kids.
